Crown Cottage Newsletter 2015

It’s been a very busy year for Crown Cottage with lots of change. New members of staff joined the team, rebranding of our logo, new uniforms for the girls & lots of courses!!

At the start of the year nurses Danielle and Lucy successfully completed their radiography course after a year of training, this qualification enables them to take all types of radiographs at the practice.

Dr James Brown spent time at the London Smile Studio working on complete smile make overs. By using porcelain crowns the shape, size & shade of teeth can be changed, completely changing the appearance of your smile. Testimonials from our patients who have undergone this treatment have described how the treatment has completely changed their lives, by helping them regain their self-confidence.

We welcomed new dental nurse Lauren to the team in March who works alongside Dr Richard Pugh. She completed her training later in the year and joined the GDC register with the rest of the nursing team.

April saw the return of our treatment co-ordinator Katy who returned back to work after having her son, Rory! We also welcomed new nurse Keri to the team, Keri works with our hygienist Sonia and Dr Martyn Smith.

During May Sonia, Emily & Andrew attended an ADI implant course in Glasgow, to refresh their knowledge & skills.

Dr Andrew Martin competed in the GB Age Group Sprint Triathlon Championships in Cambridge. Andrew raced brilliantly and ended up winning a bronze medal. He then went on to represent GB in the European Championship in Geneva!

In September our new dentist Rachel started at the practice, working alongside her is Louise.

After a yearlong course Alice completed her Level 3 in business and administration in management.

Our new Cerec 3D machine arrived at the practice enabling us to design and make porcelain inlays & crowns for patients in 1 sitting, avoiding the need for follow up appointments, impressions and temporaries.

Nurses Emily & Vicky recently attended and completed the Dental Nurse Course in Conscious Sedation for Dentistry.

This year marks 20 years for our Practice Manager Justine working at Crown Cottage!
