Newsletter - Summer 2017

This year has seen a lot of change here at Crown Cottage. You may have noticed some familiar faces are not around? In August we wished nurse Danielle lots of luck as she left to start her maternity. Her first baby is due September and we can’t wait to see if it’s a little girl or boy!! We would like to welcome Rachel who will be covering Danielle’s maternity.
We also said goodbye to Dentist William who has worked with us for the last year. Will is heading off to work in Prince Charles Hospital and we wish him all the luck in his new position! Finally and most recently we said goodbye to nurse Louise who has worked here at Crown Cottage for the last 6 years.
Patients who saw William for their dental care will now be seen by either Martyn Smith or Richard Pugh. If you have any queries please ask at reception.

We would like to say congratulations to our nurse Lauren who’s hard worked paid off when she collected her grade B in English Language back in August!

Andrew has been very busy competing this year; firstly back in May he became British champion in the British Age Group Sprint Champs in Scotland.

He's also just come back from Düsseldorf where, despite crashing, he finished in 5th place in the European Sprint Triathlon Champs! Well done Andrew!

We all hate paperwork and it’s fair to say there’s a lot to sign and fill in when you visit us!
All our forms are needed to comply with NHS, private and local health board guidelines and are legal requirements. You as the patient are responsible for understanding and completing them correctly. However, if you have any questions or are stuck on anything please ask a member of the team who will be more than happy to help you……. And please spare a thought for the reception girls who have to check, scan and file every piece of this paperwork ;)

If you claim free NHS dental treatment that you’re not entitled to, you could face a penalty charge of up to £100 – as well as the original treatment charge. Not all benefits entitle you to free treatment. For more information you can visit www.nhsbsa.nhs.uk/healthcosts

We have so many different types of treatment available at the practice from basic whitening to brighten your smile to cosmetic orthodontics and porcelain crowns to transfer the appearance of your teeth. If there is something that bothers you about your smile why not book in for a free consultation with our treatment co-ordinator Katy. Did you know you could spread the cost of private cosmetic work to convenient monthly payments? Talk to us today about our finance packages to suit all budgets.

Our pay monthly insurance scheme starts from as little as £16.70 per month. That’s around 55p per day! You could benefit from priority early morning and late night appointments with a regular dentist and relax knowing that you won’t have any shock dental bills with most v

treatment being covered by the insurance. You could also take advantage of the 24 hour emergency UK helpline and overseas cover. Ask reception today for a leaflet or ask your dentist during your appointment to find out more!

It’s always lovely having positive comments and reviews left. We were spoilt this week with beautiful flowers from a happy patient! We love getting feedback from our patients and there are plenty of ways for you to leave it… you could write a review on our Facebook page Crown Cottage Dental Care, leave a review on our yell.com contact page or write and post through our suggestion box which you can find located by the main door.

Don’t forget to follow us on our social media sites. Facebook – Crown Cottage Dental Care, Instagram – crown_cottage_bedwas and twitter - @CrownCottageDC our pages are updated frequently with practice information and useful dental facts and advice, and occasionally the odd giveaway!!

We have a range of children’s character toothbrushes and disclosing tablets starting from £2.50. Also available are a selection of interdental cleaning aids and mouthwashes, discuss with your dentist or Sonia our hygienist to find out which are most suitable for you.

Please make sure all your contact details are up to date. We now send email and text message reminders but it is up to you to make sure we have the correct details. Ask for a form to fill out or inform a member of staff of any changes.

With Christmas fast approaching just a reminder that we offer gift vouchers that can be used towards cosmetic treatment such as whitening, which make a lovely gift idea.
